“Lacking” – Watford FC transfer advice offered amid Mileta Rajovic exit claim

“Lacking” – Watford FC transfer advice offered amid Mileta Rajovic exit claim.

This post is part of Football League World’s ‘Terrace Talk’ series, which features personal comments from FLW Fan Pundits on breaking news, teams, players, managers, potential signings, and more.

Mileta Rajovic is presently on loan to Danish club Brondby from Watford for the remainder of the season.

After only one full season at Vicarage Road, the 25-year-old returned to his native Denmark this summer. He scored 11 goals in 44 Championship appearances before leaving, but started only 17 as the squad ended 15th last season. Since the transition, he has made 12 appearances in the Danish Superliga, scoring five goals and assisting twice, sparking talk of a permanent contract in the summer.

When asked about the possibility of a permanent deal, FLW’s Watford fan analyst Justin Beattie stated that it would be a move that benefits both clubs. He believes that if he is sold, the Hornets will need to acquire two new forwards, as Tom Cleverley’s side is expected to be short of options next season. “If we are going to let him go permanently to Brondby, we will need to bring in another forward, possibly two,” Beattie told Football League World. “Because Vakoun Bayo returns to Udinese at the end of the season, leaving us with Mamadou Doumbia.

“So far this season, we’ve sensed a lack of attacking alternatives. “Letting Rajovic have a permanent move to Brondby would probably work well for Brondby and Watford, but we certainly do need to find another one, if not two, options for the forward or striker positions.” Watford are presently 10th in the Championship table, just three points behind the play-off places heading into the season’s final 11 games. The Hornets’ next game will be at home against Millwall on March 8.

Rajovic sale in the summer works for everyone

Rajovic had little impact at Watford, and paying in this summer allows everyone to go on and forget about it. He is settling very well at Brondby, and it would be a wise decision to negotiate if there is long-term interest. Watford could have a busy summer this year, since the team is still short on attacking potency following last summer’s departures. Sticking with Cleverley has provided much-needed stability at Vicarage Road, and this summer will allow him to truly make this team his own for a potential promotion challenge next year.
