On Saturday, Sheffield United got closer to their Championship promotion opponents.
After his Leeds United team blew a lead to draw 1-1 at home against West Brom, Daniel Farke has cautioned against them being “overconfident.”
Darnell Furlong of West Brom cancelled out Junior Firpo’s headed opening on Saturday lunchtime, denying Leeds the chance to go eight points ahead of Sheffield United. Farke’s team appeared to be headed for another easy afternoon at Elland Road when the left-back scored within nine minutes, but they faltered and things became tense.
United’s 2-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers effectively reduced the distance on league leaders Leeds to just three points, but the title race is still very much alive despite the West Yorkshire team’s recent overwhelmingly positive reviews. In addition, Farke implied that his players were getting a bit too comfortable with their 1-0 lead on Saturday after two points were lost.
