A fire at a Watford hostel is being treated as arson, police have confirmed.
The blaze happened at the One YMCA facility at Brindle Court in Epsom Road in the early hours of February 10.
Residents were evacuated while police and fire crews contained the blaze.
The force later confirmed that one resident was taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
Following several enquiries, officers from the force’s local crime unit are now treating the fire.
They have asked that anyone with information contact david.elgy@herts.police.uk and quote crime reference 41/13435/25.
Information can also be reported online or by calling 101.
At the time of the fire, resident Shannon Binks told the Watford Observer: “I woke up to the sound of the fire alarm going off and a security guard shouting that there was a fire.
“Residents were running around trying to get people out of the building, it was very chaotic.
