Norwich City Secures Promising Defender Vatan Ozcan with First Professional Contract
Norwich City has disclosed that Vatan Ozcan, a 17-year-old defender, has executed his inaugural professional contract with the organization.
The promising adolescent, who also represents Turkey at the junior international level, has signed a two-year contract that will keep him at Carrow Road until the summer of 2027.
Ozcan, who enrolled in the Canaries’ academy at the age of 10, has consistently demonstrated his potential.
He has been a critical member of the club’s under-18s team this season, appearing in seven league matches and three FA Youth Cup matches. Additionally, his advancement has enabled him to participate in Olly Lee’s under-21 team.
Ozcan conveyed his satisfaction with the contract signature in an interview with the club’s official channels. “It is a moment of great pride for my family and me,” he stated.
“I have been a member of the club since the age of 10, which only serves to underscore its significance.” It’s a tremendous honour, it’s a fantastic institution. I have been a member of the society for an extended period, which motivates me to provide the best possible representation of the organization.
The acquisition of Ozcan’s professional contract is seen as a significant step in Norwich City’s commitment to developing youthful talent from their academy.
The club will be hopeful that Ozcan continues his rapid development and progresses towards the first team in the future seasons.
