The dates for the Championship play-offs this season have been finalized; the final is scheduled for Saturday, May 24.
The first of the three EFL play-off finals scheduled for the Spring Bank Holiday weekend will be the Championship extravaganza.

After their pivotal victory over Stoke City in the middle of the week, Middlesbrough is still aiming for a top six finish, while Sunderland appears destined for a Championship play-off campaign.

Five days later, on Thursday, May 8, the play-offs begin, with the team finishing sixth hosting the team that finished third in the first leg. The regular Championship season ends on Saturday, May 3, with all games starting at 12.30 p.m. The second leg is scheduled for Monday, May 12 at 8:00 p.m.

The teams who finish fourth and fifth will face off in the second Championship play-off match on Friday, May 9, and Tuesday, May 13, both at 8 p.m. The first leg will be played at home for the fifth-place team.

The final’s May 24 kickoff time is still pending confirmation.

At the moment, Sunderland is in fourth place, 12 points ahead of seventh-place Coventry and 13 points outside the automatic promotion spots. The next game for Regis Le Bris’ team is on Friday night when they visit Sheffield Wednesday.
