Over 2,000 Sheffield Wednesday fans are expected to head over to Norwich City when the two teams meet next month.
If you only consider games played at Carrow Road, Wednesday’s record against the Canaries is considerably worse—the Owls haven’t triumphed there since 2009.
However, that is unlikely to deter the team’s supporters—many of whom will recall Jermaine Johnson’s victory there more than 15 years ago—from selling out their 2,022 available tickets for the game.
Wednesdayites are excited to travel to Norfolk as Danny Röhl’s team looks to maintain its play-off aspirations, but it is unclear if they will make it to public sale on March 4. Sales started yesterday at 9 a.m.
Additionally, it is the game before Sheffield United and Steel City’s derby. It is hoped that a strong showing against Norwich will encourage the Owls to pull off an upset and put another dent in the Blades’ Championship title aspirations.
Only a few days before they play the Canaries, Wednesday has already announced that they had sold out their long journey to Plymouth Argyle. With those two games back-to-back, Sheffield Wednesday’s devoted supporters will be traveling a great distance in support of their team.
However, Röhl’s team must first defeat Sunderland at Hillsborough this Friday night. They will be eager to resume winning ways at home before a very taxing few days of travelling.
