Breaking News: Todd Cantwell drops James Tavernier in Rangers dispute after Philippe Clement sack.

Rangers captain James Tavernier may be in trouble following Todd Cantwell’s mysterious social media rant directed at Philippe Clement.

Rangers fired Clement following a 2-0 loss to St Mirren on Saturday (22 February), and Barry Ferguson was named interim manager until the conclusion of the season. The Bears are 13 points behind Celtic and have been eliminated from the Scottish FA Cup after losing the league cup final to their Old Firm rivals. Ferguson’s success this season will be determined by performances in the Europa League, where Rangers will face Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce in the last phase. Steven Gerrard is already being lined up to replace Ferguson in the summer, since the Englishman has been out of work since leaving Al-Ettifaq in January.

Todd Cantwell takes jab at Philippe Clement

Following the news that Clement had been released by Rangers, the Blackburn Rovers attacking midfielder shared a photograph of Byron Messia’s song “Taliban” on his Instagram account, captioned: “Suns out, so is our tune, James Tavernier,” with a laughing emoji. Cantwell left Rangers in the summer after filing a transfer request over a disagreement with the Belgian boss. The former Norwich man has never been one to hold back his opinions, and his cryptic statement is guaranteed to spark debate.
