Blackburn Rovers urged to appoint ex-Norwich City manager to replace John Eustace

Alan Nixon claims that there are only two finalists left in the race to replace John Eustace at Ewood Park.

Following the most recent round of interviews, Wagner and Valerien Ismael are both in the running, however it is believed that the former is the front-runner for the job.

While Wagner was promoted to Huddersfield Town in 2017 and guided Norwich City to a top six finish the previous season, Ismael had experience working in the Championship with Barnsley, West Brom, and Barnsley.

Of the two contenders leading the Blackburn manager search, Palmer thinks Wagner is the superior choice.

He asserted that the German had an advantage over Ismael at this point because of his prior promotion experience.

Palmer told Football League World, “Blackburn Rovers are reportedly close to scheduling an appointment.”

It appears that David Wagner and Valerien Ismael are the only two contenders left.

“It didn’t appear like the hierarchy was in a haste to make an appointment because they had two good results: they defeated Plymouth Argyle and West Brom.

However, a humiliating 3-0 loss to Swansea on the road has spurred them to action, and it is now thought that they are considering selecting one of the two options.
