It seems Sunderland will have to do without Enzo Le Fee and Dan Ballard for the time being, with both players set for a bit of a spell on the sidelines as we head towards the tail-end of the season.
Le Fee, who arrived on loan from Roma in January, has been a sensation in a red and white shirt and despite playing out of position he has shone as one of the standout performers in the team. Annoyingly, just as it looked like we’d finally get a chance to see him play centrally following the return of Romaine Mundle, he’s going to be out for around six weeks. He came off with a hamstring complaint at half time on Saturday and it’s likely we won’t see him now until the start of April at the very least.
Ballard also came off during the game after injury himself whilst attempting to clear the ball, and in what has been a fairly frustrating campaign for the Northern Ireland international due to injury it would seem he’s going to be out for around eight weeks — such a shame when you consider how well he’s played alongside Luke O’Nien recently.
And for those wondering about Jayden Danns — don’t get your hopes up. Sources inside the AoL are indicating that we’re unlikely to even see him play this season.
In more positive news, it looks like Tommy Watson and Jenson Seelt are both ready to fully return to the fold — two out, two in then.
