‘A shame’ – Sheffield Wednesday injury blow regarding attacker shared by Danny Rohl ahead of Sunderland clash

Sheffield Wednesday winger Anthony Musaba isn’t expected back on Friday, as per The Star.

Sheffield Wednesday are back in action against Sunderland at home. SWFC lost 4-0 away at Burnley last time out.

Musaba, 24, has been out of action due to injury since January. His return date has now been pushed back until early March against Plymouth Argyle.

In this latest update regarding his condition, his boss Danny Rohl has told the star “At first it looked good, he trained on Sunday (after the Coventry game) but he got a small reaction, now he has had two rejections. I hope it is this week, then next week and then before Plymouth he is back. Sometimes at first an issue starts in one part of the body and then maybe with some different movements it goes into another part.

“It is a shame but he is positive and I think he will be available for the end of the season, maybe the last eight or nine games. We are working on it, he is still positive. It is harder of course to have him out of the squad.”

Sheffield Wednesday injury latest regarding Anthony Musaba

Sheffield Wednesday will want to be patient with Musaba and won’t want to rush him back in if he isn’t ready.

It will be a boost when he finally makes his return and he gives them something different in attack.

The former Holland youth international linked up with Sheffield Wednesday under their former boss Xisco Munoz in 2023.

Musaba has since made 74 appearances in all competitions and has chipped in with 11 goals, seven of which came in his first year.

The forward has also had spells in the past at NEC Nijmegen, AS Monaco, Cercle Brugge, SC Heerenveen and FC Metz.
