‘WE REALLY WANT TO WIN THE GAME’ – TIELEMANS LOOKS AHEAD TO CHELSEA CLASH.

Youri Tielemans believes Aston Villa will aim for three points when they visit Chelsea in the Premier League at Villa Park on Saturday.

Following straight draws against Ipswich Town and Liverpool in B6, Villa enters this weekend’s games in ninth place. Tielemans believes victory must be on their thoughts as the Villans prepare to step up their bid for European football next season.

“The performance was really good (against Liverpool), but we’ve got to win games now and hopefully we can do that in the next few games,” he told ESPN. “There have been a few games where we could have won without losing a goal or whatever happened. “To be unbeaten at home for those games is good, but you want to win games and get more out of some of them.” Villa will have to prolong their 13-match unbeaten home record, which began in November, against a Chelsea club that has contended for the top of the table for long periods of time.

A recent slump in form has pushed them down the rankings, but they remain one of the division’s most potent offensive sides. Tielemans is mindful of their threats, but he understands the importance of securing three points at Villa Park. “They’ve been really good,” he remarked. “They have some quality players and have had some excellent results. “We’re at home, and we really want to win the game to cut the gap with them and possibly move up the table. “These are the games we want to win and must win to close the gap with them. Hopefully, we can accomplish that.”
