Update on heavily-backed candidate in Blackburn manager hunt
Rovers conducted a first round of online interviews earlier this week and are now speaking to candidates in-person as they edge closer to an appointment. The board are keen to avoid rushing their decision, with back-to-back wins buying the club breathing space ahead of the trip to Swansea City.
The expectation remains that Rovers will make a breakthrough in their search before next Saturday’s home game with Norwich City. If not, there would be a huge narrative if the new man’s first game was against John Eustace’s Derby County.
David Lowe will continue to take the team until then. Another positive result could see fans’ opinions sway towards giving him the role until the end of the season. But, at the time of writing, the expectation is that an external candidate will get the job.
