Watford FC star Moussa Sissoko surprises school children

As part of a one-time mental health education lesson, the France international paid a special visit to the Year 6 students at Parkside

Community Primary School in Borehamwood.

The midfielder attended the session following a school student’s victory in a competition held by Watford Football Club’s Community

Sports and Education Trust during Children’s Mental Health Week. The competition asked primary school students to create cartoon

characters that embodied the values of the Premier League Primary Stars. Nicola Burton, the Trust’s School Sports Project Officer, led

the session at the school, where students were encouraged to act as “emotional referees,” recognizing their own feelings in various

situations and talking about the value of self-awareness.Sissoko attended the event to pose for a team shot, participate in a Q&A

session, and surprise Vinnie.

“Thank you to everyone who participated in our Children’s Mental Health Week competition; we had some amazing entries. Congratulations to Vinnie on his designs,” Ms. Burton stated.

“Being able to give Vinnie and his school pals a treat with today’s session was fantastic.

“The kids were clearly inspired and excited by this, and they were actively involved the entire time.

“Thanks also to Sissoko who helped add that star quality to our session.”
