Tony Mowbray gives assessment on West Brom’s forgotten man after under 21 outing
Arriving from Serie A team Juventus in the summer, the left defender has had a difficult time making an impression at the Albion thus far this season.
He has only made seven appearances across all competitions, and he has occasionally been left off of matchday teams.
Mowbray visited Kidderminster Harriers on Monday night to see the full back in Albion’s 1-1 draw with Wolves, assessing the team’s peripheral players.
Mowbray has praised the defender’s qualities and suggested that he might play in the final stretch of the season: “Frabotta – as I’ve said since to him, the player I think he is, I need to see him play.” “He’s a deliverer, he whips the ball forward from deep or from wide into the box.” “He’s got an attribute which could help the team moving forward, but we’ll see in the last 13 games if he can work his way into the team or not.” Mowbray has attended the last two Albion under 21 games after watching their victory over Newcastle United the week before. He acknowledges that he has already recognized potential in some players and has stated that he will try to run the rule over as many games as possible.
“They have the better chances to score a second goal,” he continued. I enjoyed the game, it was competitive as you’d expect.
“I like some of the young players, there is a possibility there.
“I will make sure I watch all the games I can for the 21s, I think it’s important for the players to see that the head coach is watching them and making sure I’m aware of who I want to come and train with us when we need extra bodies.”
