Sunderland are astute transfer market players. Kristjaan Speakman’s work has largely contributed to the Black Cats’ transfer model, which is the envy of many.

Sunderland’s sustainable approach to Premier League success involves acquiring young players from underperforming clubs and developing them into valuable assets.

Last summer, Sunderland sold Jack Clarke to Ipswich Town for £18 million. The upcoming transfer window will likely result in one or two player departures from the Stadium of Light, including Joe Bellingham, who has been linked with a £20 million move.

Kristjaan Speakman will continue to hunt for talented Sunderland players that can bring in a high transfer fee in the future. Celtic hotshot Daniel Cummings is among those connected in recent months.

The 18-year-old has risen to prominence this season, thanks in large part to his prolific scoring for Celtic’s U19s in the UEFA Youth League, where he has six goals in seven games.

West Ham make first-team promise to Sunderland target Daniel Cummings

Sunderland has expressed interest in Celtic striker Cummings, who is poised to become a free agent this summer. However, the Black Cats aren’t the only team interested. West Ham has also been heavily connected with the kid.

On deadline day, West Ham agreed to sign Cummings. Despite the fact that his deal to West Ham appears to have fallen through, the striker is still at Celtic, where his future remains uncertain.

According to Hammers News, the club has offered Cummings first-team minutes in the Premier League to entice him to move to East London.

That may come as a surprise to Sunderland, given the club’s transfer plan is based on providing players with first-team exposure that they do not typically receive at Premier League clubs. Speakman gets a taste of his own medicine.

Daniel Cummings told Sunderland would still be a good fit

The link between Cummings and Sunderland makes a lot of sense, given that Sunderland continues to invest in young players and provide them with the minutes and exposure they need to succeed.

Carlton Palmer suggested earlier this season that Daniel Cummings would be a good fit for Sunderland, citing the club’s current roster. Look at Jack Clarke, who thrived at Sunderland when given the opportunity.

“I think it could be a good move (to Sunderland), but there are a lot of other clubs who also look interested in his services.”

West Ham appear to be desperate to sign the teenager, which might mean the end of Sunderland’s chase. However, if the trade falls through, like it did on deadline day, Sunderland may be able to pick up the pieces.

Strikers are still needed at the Stadium of Light, and Cummings would be an intriguing addition.
