‘I think they’re a side full of quality’ – Robins on Norwich City challenge.

Mark Robins has hailed Norwich City’s signings, but admits Josh Sargent is the danger man for his Stoke squad at Carrow Road on Saturday. Sargent has five goals in his previous five appearances, and former Canaries forward Robins is a fan. “I think they’re a side full of quality, got a lot of good players in the side,” remarked the Spaniard. “They’ve churned a few players this season, gone out and brought in a lot of new players, and they always choose fantastic attacking young players.

“There’s always a challenge – I think in Josh Sargent they’ve got one of the best strikers in the division and it’s a really good challenge for us and again, like I say, we look forward to it.” Stoke come into the game after a 3-1 home win against Swansea the previous Saturday, and Robins hopes to see more of the same this time. “Training has been good as usual,” he said via Stoke’s official club channels. “Again, a lot of information and fantastic effort. They’ve done an excellent job of applying themselves, so I’m very excited about this game. “What we should do is analyse what we’ve done well and try and enhance that and if there’s anything that we need to improve, which there always is, then try and improve that as well.

“That’s always the goal and the general focus of us here at the training field, and while it was a really wonderful win, a brilliant three points, your attention quickly shifts to what comes next, which is a tough game at Carrow Road. Stoke have scored eight goals in their previous four league and cup games, as Robins establishes his style at a club he only joined on January 1. “We’ve just got to keep doing what we’re doing and keep showing the intent we showed last week,” said Robins. “I think the first half was a little bit slow to get going, but you’ve got to start somewhere and you’re playing against teams that try and stop you from doing what you want to do. That’s normal.

“First and foremost, we must earn the right, and this applies to any game. And if we can earn the right to play our game and then impose our game and traits on our opponents, we will have accomplished our goal. “I think with tomorrow in mind, we have to have a plan that suits everybody, that will impact them but more importantly, give us a really good platform to go on and play in front of the supporters that are going to travel all the way down to Norwich.”
