Elderly cyclist seriously injured after alleged assault

An elderly cyclist was seriously injured in an alleged assault after he was reportedly knocked off his bike by a van.

It is thought that the elderly man fell from his bicycle following a collision with a Peugeot van on Trowbridge Road in Bradford on Avon, close to Abbeyfield Nursing Home.

It is then claimed that another attack occurred, resulting in the man being hospitalized for serious but reportedly non-life-threatening injuries.

The event occurred on January 27 at approximately 3:30 PM.
The alleged crime is being investigated by police, who are asking for witnesses to step forward.

A representative of the force stated: “We are seeking witnesses to an attack that occurred on Trowbridge Road close to Abbeyfield Nursing Home at approximately 3.30pm on January 27.

“Authorities are looking to identify two individuals who assisted in moving the victim off the road.

“We are also requesting that anyone who was driving in the area at that time check to see if they recorded any dashcam footage of the event.
