Drivers warned of upcoming week-long road closure in Castle
Queensgate, which connects the A559 at the Blue Barrel pub to Barber’s Lane at the other end, will close on Wednesday, March 5.
The closure, which is to allow Scottish Power to excavate the footway and carriageway so it can install new electricity infrastructure, is expected to last one week.
While no through route will be permitted, vehicle access for residents, businesses, emergency vehicles, will be maintained.
Pedestrian access will continue throughout the planned works period.
A spokesman for Cheshire West and Chester Council: “Any vehicles not requiring access to properties along the length of the road should use an alternative route.
“Traffic should proceed via Queensgate, Chester Road, and Ryders Street.”
