The next Bojan Miovski tag given to Aberdeen recruit directly addressed by Jimmy Thelin

The next Bojan Miovski tag given to Aberdeen recruit directly addressed by Jimmy Thelin.

The Dons boss is refusing to put press on Oday Dabbagh after his Dundee cameo.

Jimmy Thelin believes it is wrong to draw parallels between Oday Dabbagh and former Aberdeen hero Bojan Miovski. The new Charleroi loan signing made his debut, coming off the bench in the final minutes of the weekend’s triumph over Dundee. The attacker has already pleased Thelin and his teammates in training, with some claiming he has a similar style to Miovski, who impressed at Pittodrie before being sold to Girona for a club record earlier this season. The Palestine striker, like Miovski, is left-handed and a goal scorer, but that’s where resemblance ends for the Aberdeen boss. He said: “No, I don’t think like that. I don’t like to compare players, I think every player is unique in one way. So I haven’t thought so much about that myself, actually. But what he has is a good ball touch. He’s good at finding positions inside the box and is also a good finisher.

“Let’s see how he fits into the team and how we play. Of course, he needs time, just like everyone else, but I believe he is an intelligent player who can adjust quickly. He excels at linking up with other players, but he also finds ways to finish within the box.” Cormack Park is a drastically different place this week, following two triumphs and the club’s first Premiership victory in 15 games. The Dons are also back in third place, and former manager Derek McInnes will aim to capitalise on that when his Kilmarnock side travels north. Thelin drew in the likes of Kristers Tobers and Alexander Jensen Alfie Dorrington, Dabbagh, Mats Knoester and JeppeOkkels entered during the final window. He now believes the competition is the strongest it has ever been. Captain Graeme Shinnie and Nicky Devlin have recently been benched, proving this point.
