Liam Delap has scored ten goals in the Premier League so far

When asked after Saturday’s game if Delap is confident, Palmer replied, “100%. “You look at him and see a monster. He’s a young man with plenty of excitement and energy, not to mention talent. “So for us to have him and him be playing as well as he is at the moment, he’s going to have a big part to play the rest of the season.”

Delap’s latest goal was a classic striker’s finish, as he split three Villa defenders and skilfully directed Omari Hutchinson’s cross into the net. “He’d not had many chances throughout the game, so for him to be able to take that when it came to him is a credit to him,” Palmer pointed out. “He deserves it, he’s a great player.”Alex Palmer says Liam Delap is 'an all-round striker'
