Glimpse behind the scenes hints at Barry Bannan news ahead of Sheffield Wednesday trip to Burnley
Barry Bannan may have good news ahead of Sheffield Wednesday’s Friday night trip to high-flying Burnley, according to a behind-the-
scenes look at Middlewood Road.
After a brief absence due to a knee injury, the Owls captain was added back into the lineup for the team’s late loss to Coventry City
over the weekend. However, manager Danny Röhl cautioned that the success of his comeback would only be known in the days that
followed, and that there might be more reaction following a full game.
“Tomorrow (Sunday) is the pivotal moment,” Röhl stated. It’s possible that he’s out once more or that there isn’t a reaction, in which
case he can continue. Right now, no one knows.
Bannan may be seen in the backdrop of training images as the Wednesday media crew returned to Middlewood Road following the
Sky Blues match, according to photos they posted on Tuesday. Naturally, it is unknown how big of a role he had in the session, but it
would be encouraging as they prepare for Turf Moor.
Akin Famewo and Dominic Iorfa are seen training in other pictures, however it is obviously unknown how extensive his regimen is.
The Owls defence duo has been out since the beginning of January and October, respectively, and has been mentioned as having a
target comeback date of mid-March.
In other Wednesday injury news, Di’Shon Bernard is anticipated to return at some point during their preseason program after
undergoing successful surgery last week for a knee problem. Over the weekend, Röhl stated that following a slight injury, Dutch
winger Anthony Musaba should return to Burnley’s lineup.
