For a select few Evertonians, Meis and the Toffees’ vision for their new location at Bramley-Moore Dock finally materialized on Monday when their Under-18 team played Wigan Athletic in a test match.
In an intentional attempt to mimic the boxed-in atmosphere of Goodison Park, supporters and reporters in attendance posted the views from the steep stands of Everton Stadium on social media.
Excitement for the new era is growing as hundreds of millions of dollars have been invested in the building and development of a stadium that might revolutionize Everton.
Dan Meis responds to new Everton Stadium reaction
The Blues’ new home on Liverpool’s waterfront was built by no fewer than six distinct planning and construction firms, and chief architect Meis responded following Monday’s test event.
“So great to see the first fans getting a close up look at Bramley Moore!!” Meis wrote in a post on LinkedIn on February 18. I love this picture, but I’m not sure who to give credit to because I received so many!

New era beckons for Everton after Bramley-Moore Dock test event
Even though just 10,000 fans have had a chance to see Everton Stadium’s interior in person thus far, thousands more are anticipated to enter before the stadium’s official debut the following season.
The facilities and financial power available to the Toffees will be night and day as they bid farewell to their 132-year home in Goodison Park at the conclusion of the season, even if Goodison is only two miles from their new location.
With its cutting-edge design and amenities, the stadium is anticipated to serve as more than simply a football field, though most fans will be unfamiliar with the idea of concerts and other sporting events taking place there.
It makes sense that Meis praised the “literally thousands” of individuals who worked to complete the stadium, considering the numerous obstacles encountered before the summer 2025 move-in deadline was met.
Doubts remained about its future until Dan Friedkin’s takeover was restarted in September and finally finished in December, but now that summer is approaching, the Toffees are ready for a new chapter in their history.
