In a dramatic incident in Leicestershire, a truck driver’s foot was stuck beneath the dashboard, forcing firefighters to remove them.
The collision’s severe effects are depicted in images issued by the Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS), which show the lorry’s front crushed and its windscreen completely broken.
Last Tuesday, February 11, an incident occurred in Loughborough, and several emergency services were dispatched to the area.
Photos show the bonnet of the truck bending upwards from the accident, and the driver was unable to get out of the car after their foot became stuck under the dashboard.
According to LFRS, technical rescue specialists and air ambulance medics were joined at the scene by personnel from Birstall and Eastern stations.
They stated that because of the difficulty of the situation, the Southern Station’s specialized heavy rescue unit was also called in.
Without providing any other information about their condition, the unnamed truck driver was released with the use of specialized equipment and transported to a hospital for treatment.
Leicestershire Police and the East Midlands Ambulance Service also responded to the scene.
The organization stated in a social media post: “Firefighters face difficult situations while dealing with heavy freight vehicles because of their size.
This situation was resolved with the use of specialized equipment carried by the heavy rescue unit stationed at Southern Station.
The fire department has advised drivers to have enough braking distance from other cars and to stop if they are feeling fatigued. It is unknown exactly where the crash occurred in Loughborough.
