Southampton’s Fraser confirms he is close to return from injury

Since his brief appearance against his previous team, Newcastle United, last month, the 30-year-old has been out due to a calf injury.

Since Southampton’s 5-1 loss to Chelsea under Russell Martin, Fraser has not started a game; that was just his fourth appearance in the starting lineup.

Fraser joked, “I’m still a Southampton player,” in response to a question about injuries during the most recent episode of Southampton’s series Early Doors.

“I’ll be back shortly. I’m hoping the calf will calm down a bit so I can resume my favorite activities.

Earlier this season, manager Ivan Juric gave Fraser a positive verdict and gave an explanation for the Scotsman’s low playing time.

Fraser is a tremendously good player, in my opinion. He put in a lot of effort at work. Like Armstrong, he plays in the same position as Sulemana. At Nottingham Forest, he claimed that was the reason he was punished.

On the day of the deadline, Fraser returned to Southampton permanently after a summer-long drama surrounding his return.

Fraser joined Flynn Downes as the second promotion-winning player to rejoin the team, demonstrating how his teammates welcomed his arrival.

“It seems so far away now doesn’t it, but it was probably the most I’ve enjoyed football in my career,” Fraser stated when asked to recollect the previous season.

“We ended the season in perhaps the greatest possible fashion, despite some ups and downs. It was unthinkable.

“I think my kids and I will review it and discuss it. I’ve never had a better experience.
