According to a trustworthy newspaper, David Moyes is pressuring Everton to recruit a “quality” player for £30 million to replace Jarrad Branthwaite should he depart in the summer.
Everton news and updates
Moyes confirmed that the Toffees had been hit hard after winning a last-minute equalizer against Liverpool in the penultimate Merseyside derby at Goodison Park. Iliman Ndiaye is expected to miss weeks of action after leaving the field in tears due to an injury sustained during the match.
“Iliman had a damage to his medial [knee] ligament. Right now, it doesn’t look good. Most likely, we don’t know how long it will last. We’ll learn more about that, but it will undoubtedly take several weeks.”
Everton would have been devastated to hear that, but they managed to win three points away at Crystal Palace in their first game without the attacker.
Aside from injury updates, there have been rumors that Moyes may try to sign Tom Fellows to Everton in the summer because he wants to bolster his team with a gifted young player during the off-season. Although West Brom is apparently seeking £20 million for its academy product, Fellows is reportedly eager to join Everton.

Fellows is not the only player on Moyes’ radar; according to Football League World, reporter Alan Nixon claims that Everton is interested in acquiring Burnley’s Maxime Esteve in order to replace Branthwaite in the event that he leaves.
According to Nixon, Everton is interested in the Burnley defender as the Toffees get ready for Branthwaite’s possible summer departure, which may cost them almost £60 million.
Esteve has been essential to Burnley being one of the most impressive teams in the Championship, therefore Moyes’ decision to name him as a suitable successor may irritate the team.
Prior to becoming a permanent member in the summer of last year, the 22-year-old joined the Clarets on loan in February. The center-back has started all 33 Championship games thus far and could fetch up to £30 million for Everton in the summer.
If Burnley are unable to secure the defender, the Toffees’ chances of signing him could improve.
Esteve, a left-footer like Branthwaite and the same age as the Everton defender, is a perfect like-for-like replacement. Talent scout Jacek Kulig has called Esteve a “quality” center-back.
However, since Esteve has only made 16 appearances in the top tier and it will be a different atmosphere going from Burnley in the Championship to Everton in the greatest league in England, Everton may need to exercise patience with him, just as they did with Branthwaite.
