Two people have been arrested after a learner driver was pulled over by police near a busy Wiltshire junction.
A car without L plates was stopped on the A4 Bath Road in Chippenham, between Chequers Roundabout and Methuen Park Roundabout, on Sunday night, February 16.
Police have recently disclosed that the driver of the automobile was a learner who reportedly committed many driving offences.
Officers claim that both the driver and their supervisor failed roadside breath tests, blowing 99 and 90 microgrammes per 100 millilitres, respectively.
Both the driver and the supervisor were eventually arrested.
Police said the car was also operated without insurance and had other flaws.
These included three “bald tyres,” two of which had their cords severed, and malfunctioning lights.
In addition to making two arrests, police impounded the car and arranged for its recovery from the site.
A police spokesperson added: “This stop in Chippenham is pretty much a ‘how not to do it’ for learner drivers.”
