Gary Neville’s makes Aston Villa claim as pressure grows on Liverpool

Gary Neville has emphasized the pressure Liverpool is under to win the Premier League title as they prepare for a “big” week that includes away games against Manchester City and Aston Villa.

Even though they lead Arsenal by seven points, Neville says Arsenal should not give up because of the Reds’ recent results, which include a “slender victory” against Wolves and a stalemate with Everton in the Merseyside derby.

He said on The Gary Neville Podcast, “I think it was a good day for Liverpool.””I even believe that Arsenal had a half-good day because Liverpool, who just defeated a Wolves squad that I felt was amazing, had away games against Aston Villa and Man City coming up.

“You get a game like that sometimes when you’re competing for a title at home, when everybody assume you’ll show up and win easily. You believe you will score three or four goals after taking a 2-0 lead, but it turns out to be a challenging afternoon.

“We’ve all had these types of games and that is why it is a good result for Liverpool.”

Neville recognizes the changing dynamics of pressure given the possibility of Villa and City upsetting things; if Liverpool can hold their lead, the focus will turn back to Arsenal, according to the Mirror.

When he said, “This next week is big,” Liverpool’s next two games are against Man City and Aston Villa.

“Villa isn’t playing well, but Villa Park is a place where mistakes may happen. You can definitely get taken off guard in Man City as well. Their guys are 100% capable of scoring two or three goals against you.

“As Arsenal will also lose points, Liverpool will be in a strong position to try and win the league if they can secure four points from the following two games. Arsenal will be under pressure if they can win this week because they play Chelsea, Manchester United, and Nottingham Forest.

In that stretch, they have a good possibility of losing points. It will be roughly equal if the gap can remain at seven points during this challenging time.

Arsenal only has one game this week, hosting West Ham on Saturday, whereas Liverpool has two difficult matches against Villa and City.
