Chelsea make Enzo Maresca sack decision as slump continues
Enzo Maresca’s team lost against Brighton again, dropping them out of the top four.
The Blues have decided what to do with Maresca going forward.
Several sources claim that despite Chelsea’s dismal performance, the club has no plans to fire manager Enzo
Maresca.
The Blues suffered their second consecutive six-day defeat at Brighton’s AMEX Stadium on Friday night after failing
to muster a single effort on goal in their 3-0 setback. “The worst since I arrived” was how Maresca described
Chelsea’s performance, and he apologised to the travelling supporters.
The team has been in a steep slide since mid-December, and Friday’s rematch was only the most recent setback.
Chelsea has only won two of their last nine league games after being on a five-game winning streak; just six teams
have accumulated less points during this dismal run.
But according to reports, Maresca’s job is still safe.

Fabrizio Romano told his YouTube channel that there is “no danger, no problem, no issues” for Maresca. The Italian
is still viewed by those at Chelsea as “the right man for the job”.
The Blues have been hindered by numerous injuries, but they are still in the running for Champions League
qualification, a goal that wasn’t anticipated to be reached until the 2025–26 season. Maresca has been careful to
emphasise that “We are in the right process, we are in the right direction.” Chelsea’s chances of staying ahead of
schedule are still intact, as it grows more likely that the top five teams in the Premier League, not the top four, will
qualify for the Champions League next season. With 13 games left in the season, the Blues are tied with fifth-place
Bournemouth.
The trigger-happy reputation of Chelsea’s new ownership predates them, despite rumours to the contrary. Since
BlueCo took over nearly three years ago, Maresca is the sixth different person to lead the team.Despite leading the
squad to a decent sixth-place finish the previous season, Mauricio Pochettino was fired.
Maresca may have been thinking about this previous precedent when he acknowledged, following the Brighton loss,
that “I feel pressure always.”
