Hamza Igamane admits ‘rage’ at Celtic as Rangers star reveals most significant moment in light blue zone
The Moroccan had to wait to really start his Rangers career but now he’s a regular and lapping up the big moments.
Hamza Igamane confesses he was filled with a “rage to win” during Old Firm encounters.
The Moroccan has sampled derbies with Celtic on three times so far as a Rangers player; the 3-0 setback back in September, a painful penalty shoot-out defeat in a thrilling Premier Sports Cup Final and a 3-0 Gers win at Ibrox soon after the New Year.
He’s yet to find the net on derby day, but did earn an assist at Hampden. And it seems Igamane has already gotten to grips with what it’s all about.
“It was a great derby. In this kind of match, you feel all the enthusiasm, all the intensity of these people for football, especially in this city,” he told Onze Mundial “It is definitely an incredible competition between the two clubs.
When you are on the field, you feel this rage to win. And in terms of the mood in the stands, it was very wonderful.
Personally, I really enjoyed the contest.”
As for his highlight as a Rangers player thus far, there’s a definite standout moment for Igamane.
He added: “The one against Tottenham, in the Europa League, in an extraordinary atmosphere, at Ibrox Park.
“The stadium was filled and the noise deafening. In addition, it is a kind of derby between a Scottish club and an English club, so of course, when I score, I feel the adrenaline invade me.
It is my most crucial goal since my arrival.”
