Six Hearts stars now major injury doubts for Rangers visit including player linked to Ibrox
The manager of the Jambos believes that after losing badly to Queen’s Park in the Scottish Cup last week, Rangers will come to Edinburgh with a point to prove.
At Tynecastle, Rangers will take on a revitalized Hearts club, who have won eight straight Scottish Premiership games under Neil Critchley.
Philippe Clement will be under further pressure if they lose, but there is some injury news from Gorgie that could draw attention in Glasgow.
This is due to the fact that Hearts may be missing up to six players for the match against Rangers.
The game versus Rangers will not include any of Hearts’ defensive options.
One of the most well-known absences is Frankie Kent, an Australian defender who was last seen in December and will be out for a long time because of a torn muscle.
Craig Halkett, a former Rangers defender, will also not play in Edinburgh due to a hamstring injury he suffered against Kilmarnock last month.
Once linked to a move to Rangers, Stephen Kingsley has had a terrible run of ailments and had to have surgery for a hamstring problem he experienced in December.
The encounter against Rangers will be too soon for the Hearts star, even though the defender is back on the training field.
Aidan Denholm is also still out due to a hamstring problem.
A couple of players are still questionable before the weekend.
Lewis Neilson, a former St Johnstone loanee, is doubtful because of a dead leg, and Cammy Devlin may miss out after suffering a concussion during Hearts’ Scottish Cup victory against St Mirren.
Before the match against Hearts at Tynecastle, Rangers don’t have any injury concerns of their own.
The Rangers manager has five major injury doubts going into the match, even though Philippe Clement is scheduled to provide a more comprehensive injury update this afternoon. Oscar Cortes and Danilo, the regularly injured South American duo, are also major doubts, though Brazilian striker Danilo is closer than the Colombian winger. Leon Balogun and Connor Barron haven’t been seen since the Europa League loss to Manchester United, and it was not until early January that Dujon Sterling was last seen wearing a Rangers shirt.
