Reading FC defender to be sidelined with injury

Due to a calf injury, Reading FC defender Harlee Dean is anticipated to be sidelined for approximately six weeks.

Last Saturday, Dean started for Reading against Huddersfield Town, however he was substituted by Amadou Mbengue in the first half due to an injury.

Now, manager Noel Hunt has stated that he anticipates the center-back will miss four to six weeks of action following a scan.

Up until late, Dean has been a supporting character in the club.

In his first season with the Royals, he played just 11 games in League One and was primarily utilized as a backup under Ruben Selles.

However, because Mbengue missed a few games due to an injury, he has been used more frequently in recent months.

Using his leadership and expertise to guide a somewhat youthful team, Dean has put on some stunning performances.

With 22 games played so far this season, including 18 League One matches, the 33-year-old has already made more appearances than he did the previous one.

Reading will play Rotherham, who are currently in 14th place, at the Select Car Leasing Stadium this Saturday.
