Liam Delap responds to Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal transfer links

The 22-year-old has impressed for Ipswich this season, netting nine goals in 23 Premier League appearances so far.

Delap, who is the son of former Stoke City, Southampton and Republic of Ireland midfielder Rory Delap, made his professional debut for Manchester City in 2020 before he was moved to Ipswich four years later in a £20 million deal.

Delap’s improvement this season has been monitored by both United and Chelsea, while Arsenal has also been urged to pursue the striker.

Nevertheless, Delap is determined to help Ipswich escape relegation this season and will not let transfer rumors consume him.

“As football players, it’s ingrained in us,” Delap told the East Anglian Daily Times.

Brentford FC v Ipswich Town FC - Premier League

For me in particular, it’s crucial to concentrate on where I am right now.

I’m having a great time here, and I’m really happy. All I can think about is playing football. I focus on the next game and take each one as it comes.

It is something I make an effort to avoid. Although I’m really good at focusing on what I want to do, many around me have advised me to avoid it. Here, we’re playing football.

I love playing every week, and I’m having a great time here. That is what matters most.

As athletes and humans, we are aware that there is noise. We remain focused on ourselves and our goals even if we play poorly and people criticize us for not doing well or achieving the desired outcomes.
