Following Norwich’s heartbreaking 4-0 loss to Leeds United in the play-off semi-finals the previous season, David Wagner’s tenure as the club’s manager came to an end.
It has been a bit of a transitional season under the Dane as the Canaries try to bring in a number of younger players in an effort to lower the average age of their team. In the summer, Johannes Hoff Thorup took over as head coach, replacing Wagner.
Despite this, Norwich is still very much in the running for the final two slots in the top six, and their chances of getting promoted have been greatly increased by the recent return of talisman Josh Sargent after an injury layoff.
With Sargent now back fit and firing, we looked at how much the USA international earns at Carrow Road and how his wages compare to some of the other leading Championship strikers.
Josh Sargent’s estimated wages at Norwich City
Sargent is paid £25,000 a week and £1,300,000 annually at Norwich, according to Capology, however it should be emphasized that they are only estimates.
Along with goalie Angus Gunn and midfielder Kenny McLean, Sargent is now the Canaries’ joint-second highest paid contracted player; nevertheless, two players earn more than the three.

Joel Piroe of Leeds has undoubtedly been the best striker in the Championship this season given that Sargent has missed a significant portion of it. However, the Dutchman is thought to earn significantly less than Sargent, earning £15,000 per week and £780,000 annually at Elland Road.
Josh Maja of West Brom, who is presently injured, is reportedly paid £17,000 a week and £884,000 annually at The Hawthorns and is one of the top strikers in the second division along with Piroe.
Wilson Isidor, a striker for Sunderland, was a relative unknown when he arrived in the summer but has since emerged as one of the Championship’s surprise packages. Despite being the team’s top player this season, Isidor is only said to get £8,500 per week and £442,000 annually at the Stadium of Light.
.Tom Cannon, who earns £25,000 a week and £1,300,000 annually at Bramall Lane—the same amount as Sargent—joined Sheffield United from Leicester City for an estimated £10 million in one of the January transfer window’s biggest deals.
Although Tommy Conway, Liam Cullen, Vakoun Bayo, Callum Robinson, and Callum Lang all deserve recognition for their season-long output, Haji Wright of Coventry City is one of the best strikers in the Championship when healthy. Like his USA international teammate Sargent, Wright makes £25,000 a week and £1,300,000 annually at Coventry City.
