Fulham snap up rising Scotland starlet as youngster thanks St Johnstone mentor for ‘treating me like his son’
Fulham, a Premier League team, has signed Brodie Dair, a St Johnstone child.
Five months after being included on his first matchday, the 16-year-old departs for an unknown sum. Son of former professional Lee, Dair began playing for the Perthshire club at the age of twelve and has played for Scotland at the under-17 level. “It has been a really enjoyable time at St Johnstone,” the child remarked. Working with each coach and teammate has been an absolute pleasure. Alistair [Stevenson] has supported and been there for me along the entire process. I am extremely grateful to him for treating me like his kid.
Before I departed, the coach gave me a big embrace and told me to stay put. I’ve received a lot of messages from the guys in the U18s and the first team. Once more, I would want to express my gratitude to everyone for their support.
“Brodie settled into St Johnstone life terrifically, was quickly popular with the players, and was fast-tracked into the under-18 squad and started scoring valuable goals,” said Alistair Stevenson, the Saints’ head of youth.
“With the support of our committed coaches, he has accomplished a great deal in a short period of time, and we are always available to help him if he needs us.” We all genuinely admire him and are eager.
