Drivers are facing “long delays” on the M62 at Chain Bar following a four-car pile up.

 

Four cars have been involved in a crash on M62 Eastbound at J26 M606 J1 (Chain Bar). It was first reported around 4pm and is causing huge delays for commuters finishing work for the day.

 

The vehicles involved have been moved to the hard shoulder, but the incident is still causing long delays for drivers.

 

Traffic monitoring system Inrix said:” Long delays due to accident, now on the hard shoulder on M62 Eastbound at J26 M606 J1 (Chain Bar).

 

“Four cars were involved, but all lanes and the slip are now open.”

 

Emergency services including police and ambulance have been contacted for more information.

Ambulance statement

Yorkshire Ambulance Service said:”Ambulance resources attended a road traffic collision this afternoon on the M62 near junction 26 and one patient was conveyed to hospital.”

 

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson has released an update on the situation.

 

They said:”We have had reports of four vehicle collision on M62 J26 but westbound not eastbound. It was reported to the police at 3:45pm this afternoon. No reports of serious injuries.”
