Chris Sutton drops Liverpool score prediction after Wolves’ ‘big win’ over Aston Villa

Wanderers are looking to keep their good form going, having won their last two matches.

They then followed that up with a comfortable win over Blackburn Rovers in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

It was thought Arne Slot may not be on the touchline for this game after he got a red card after the full-time whistle in the Merseyside Derby on Wednesday.

But the Premier League is awaiting Michael Oliver’s match report, before making a final decision on Slot’s touchline ban.

But whatever the outcome with that, Wolves just need to make sure they prepare well – and pundit Chris Sutton has now dropped his score prediction.

Chris Sutton makes score prediction for Liverpool vs Wolves

Vitor Pereira, Manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers, looks on prior to the Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round match between Blackburn Rovers and Wolverhamp…

Fans will be hopeful that Wolves can get something from this game.

But it will be a very difficult task, with Liverpool so impressive in all departments this season.

But they did just drop points against Everton in frustrating fashion, so Wanderers may look to pounce on that.

But Chris Sutton doesn’t foresee Wolves coming away with any points.

Predicting a resounding 3-0 home win, he told BBC Sport: “Wolves got a big win over Villa in their last league match and I watched them beat Blackburn in the FA Cup too.

“I cannot see Vitor Pereira’s side getting anything at Anfield, though.

“Liverpool have to bounce back after conceding an equaliser so late on against Everton but I do expect them to react positively here.

“In many ways, their players might use the dropped points at Goodison Park as a motivation to see off Wolves, and I am pretty confident they will get back on track straight away.

“I am going for Mohammed Salah to score and Liverpool to win comfortably.”

What is Wolves’ head-to-head record with Liverpool?

Wolves have not fared well against Liverpool over the last few years and Reds fans will surely be expecting three points.

Overall, Wolves have won 37 times against Liverpool.
