Newcastle United really want Nottingham Forest star who is worth more than £50m.
Nottingham Forest will face some uncertainty this summer, as a number of outstanding players may be considered by rival teams.
Forest are now in third position in the Premier League standings and doing well, perhaps allowing the Reds to enter European play in 2025/26.
Chelsea is considering signing Murillo this summer. The Blues had an offer rejected for the Brazilian defender in January, and it appears that they will return for him when the transfer window reopens at the conclusion of the season.
Liverpool are interested in signing Morgan Gibbs-White and Elliot Anderson. Arne Slot, the champions-elect, is a fan of both Forest players and is expected to look for additional acquisitions this summer.
Newcastle are reportedly contemplating signing a key player who has prospered under Nuno Espirito Santo, among other potential targets.
Newcastle still likes Forest star Anthony Elanga.
Newcastle attempted to recruit Elanga in the summer. Forest rejected their bid of up to £50 million, leaving little time to find a successor during the summer transfer season.
The Carabao Cup finalists have allowed Miguel Almiron depart St James’ Park, and Ben Jacobs has told Give Me Sport that they will look for a new right winger in the summer.
He remarked, “Newcastle will definitely recruit a right winger. Place your mortgage on it. They have to replace Miguel Almiron. Among others, they still admire Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga.”
Forest will aim to maintain some of their great players next season, and if European football is guaranteed, it is doubtful that many will choose to leave the club.
Anthony Elanga stats 2024-25
Elanga is the fastest player on the Forest squad. With Callum Hudson-Odoi sidelined, he has shown to be a valuable player for Forest due to his quickness and ability to burn defenders.
When Elanga and Hudson-Odoi play together, the Reds have a lot of fun on the counter. In the absence of the former Chelsea star, Elanga has stepped up and is progressing as a player.
Elanga cost Forest only £15 million from Manchester United. He was often neglected at Old Trafford, and given their current situation, they may wish they had kept him.
Newcastle will need to dig hard to recruit Elanga. He was valued at £50 million last summer, and if he takes Forest into Europe this time, his worth will increase over the next 12 months.
