Firefighters battling huge blaze near Reading FC grounds
An industrial building in Reading is engulfed in a massive fire that firefighters are fighting.
Social media images of the incident show massive flames and smoke rising from the Stadium Way area in Tilehurst.
The Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service acknowledged in a statement that its personnel were present to put out the fire.
It continued: “Please avoid the area if possible while our crews deal with incident.”
In response to worried supporters who pointed out its proximity, Reading City Football Club tweeted that the fire did not impact its Rivermoor grounds.
The organisation stated: “Thankfully the ground is fine and the fire is on Stadium Way Trading Estate at the other side of the railway tracks from us.”
The source of the fire and if anyone has been hurt are still unknown.
