Sporting CP coach won’t be surprised if Quenda joins United
This winter, the Red Devils signed Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven to strengthen their backline. Budgetary restrictions prevented much spending, but manager Ruben Amorim may receive additional money at the end of the season.
Man United has a deal in place to pay £50 million to acquire Quenda. Quenda’s coach at the Under-15 level, Bruschy, has now stated that he wouldn’t be shocked if the 17-year-old joined the Red Devils this summer.
“I am not surprised if he gets there, but it surprises me to see his name linked to clubs of the biggest size in Europe just because it is so early,” he remarked.
In August of last year, Quenda made his debut for the Lisbon club under Amorim. Although he began his career as a right wing-back, as the season has gone on, he has operated from the left side of the attack.
His performances in both roles have drawn attention. With age and experience, the wonderkid should only get better. He has contributed nine goals across all competitions. United’s desire to sign him is not surprising.
During his time as manager in Lisbon, Amorim closely observed his growth. If the striker were to transfer to Old Trafford this summer, the 40-year-old, who is aware of his enormous potential, could play him from right wing-back.
According to Amorim, the young player is “very strong” and “very talented,” making him a potential long-term addition to United. During his first season, he might be used in a rotational capacity before establishing himself as a consistent starter.
His arrival at Old Trafford may raise questions about Antony’s future in particular. After failing to impress the manager, the Brazilian is currently on loan at Real Betis and may be sold to recover some of the money used to purchase Quenda.
