With Johannes Spors steadying Southampton’s inconsistent ship, this plan completely makes sense. Honestly, the German would be dreaming of building the team around emerging players like Tyler Dibling but those ambitions may not materialise in the long run.
After all, many European clubs are vying to land Dibling’s services. Hence, a backup plan is needed, and Spors may have scouted one from his homeland.

Recently, a report from SportBild mentioned that Southampton are exploring a move for Ibrahim Maza. For the uninitiated, Maza is an attack oriented midfielder who is enjoying a prolific star-making campaign in Germany’s second division.
Agreed, Southampton should be targeting top flight pedigree but Maza’s learning curve is commendable. Though the teenager has just started playing senior level football, his prominence for Berlin is increasing with each passing day.
Such an impressive ascent is already enough to please Southampton fans. At the beginning of the current season, Dibling also rose to the Premier League stage in a similar way.
On top of that, the report added that the Saints may get Maza for an exceptionally suitable price as well. Even though Southampton ends up parting ways with Dibling, they could easily use those funds to bid for Maza.
Also, Spors has a knack for searching high potential players which suggests that he has a good development plan for Maza. Hoping that the club deepens their interest in Maza, the forward could become the face of Southampton’s attack in the future.
