I watched Leeds United destroy Watford – criticism of Daniel Farke’s style of play is nonsense

Leeds United are currently leading the Championship after going 14 games unbeaten. Promotion to the Premier League is within reach as the season comes to a close.

However, despite his great win ratio since taking over the reins in the summer of 2023, it is safe to say that Daniel Farke still has his detractors within the fan base.

While Farke is expected to lead the Whites to promotion, he is unlikely to be as popular as Marcelo Bielsa in the West Riding.

Chris Iwelumo of Sky Sports branded the Whites as the “full package” following their comprehensive midweek victory against Watford. He believes Daniel Farke has been criticized for being one-dimensional. For me, it’s foolishness.

“He is a wonderful manager. He’s been there and done that. He has won the Championship twice with Norwich, playing his style of game.

Clashes against promotion rivals Sunderland, Sheffield United, and West Bromwich Albion in the coming weeks might be the litmus test for United’s promotion chances.

Former Whites defender Danny Mills believes the Easter period may make or break their season.

Mills stated, “[They’re] absolutely flying; it (the tile) is theirs to lose.” They have the best front eight in the Championship, with the option of selecting any four for any given game.

“Whichever they chose would be the finest in the Championship by far. Easter is a key period for Leeds and may make or break their season.

“The first season under [Marcelo] Bielsa was a break; they lost a couple of games, including one at home to Wigan.” They need to make sure they get through that phase.”
