Reading FC return to Bracknell for Berks and Bucks defence
This evening marks the beginning of Reading’s effort to defend the Berks and Bucks Senior Cup, which they won in
May.
Back in May, more than 600 fans came to Bottom Meadow, the home field of Bracknell Town and Sandhurst Town,
to cheer on Noel Hunt’s young players.
The Royals had an incredible season, finishing sixth in the Premier League, and a few days after defeating Marlow 2-
1 in the local competition, Sunderland came to the SCL Stadium for the PL2 play-off semi-final, drawing crowds of
over 3,000 fans.
Hunt succeeded Ruben Selles in November after doing enough to make an impression despite losing to Graeme
Murty’s Wearsiders in extra time and missing the final at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Bracknell hosts the Royals this evening at 19.45pm, with Hunt’s old assistant, Peter Scott, now keeping an eye on the
Under-21s.
Check out the team that won the competition in the spring below as the quarterfinal matchup approaches.
