Former Chesterfield and Ipswich Town man signs for eighth-tier side
As the Blues won the National League championship the previous season, 22-year-old Harley Curtis made a few appearances. The forward started and scored in a 6-1 FA Trophy victory over Southport, although he only played 78 minutes overall and only made six appearances as a substitute in the league.
After his release from Ipswich Town, he impressed during his trial and was recommended by Kieron Dyer, earning him a one-year contract at Chesterfield in the summer of 2023.
Before being released at the end of the previous season, he had a brief loan stint at King’s Lynn Town during his tenure with the club. He subsequently joined with Needham Market, a team in the National League North, but his time there was cut short by injuries, and he left in September.
Now, Curtis has signed a contract with Bury Town, an eighth-tier team that is ranked second in the Isthmian League North Division. “We are happy to announce the signing of Harley Curtis,” they added, confirming his arrival. Under Paul Cook, Harley played for Chesterfield’s National League-winning squad.
In front of 602 spectators on Saturday, Bury Town defeated Grays Athletic 3-0, falling behind leaders Felixstowe & Walton United only on goal differential.
