Batth holds a particular place in his heart for wolves. He started at Molineux’s academy at the age of 15 and played in the main squad for nearly ten years.
The no-nonsense centre-back made 212 appearances for the club and was part of the Wolves’ Championship-winning squad in 2017/18.
Following an excellent spell at the club, Batth joined Stoke City for £4 million in January 2019 and has subsequently played for other second-tier clubs.
Now 34 years old and playing for Blackburn Rovers, the experienced defender has pondered on his time at Wolves, as this will be his first game against them since leaving six years ago.
“I’m excited for the game as I’ve not had the opportunity to play against Wolves since I left,” Batth stated on Rovers TV. “I am looking forward to it, and it is the FA Cup, so we will enjoy it.
“Wolves were at home. I progressed through the academy and was lucky to play for the first team, captain it, and achieve some success.
“It was a fantastic period, and it’s a location I’d consider home. It means a lot to be from the region and to play for your local team. It was a pretty terrific phase in my career, and I remember it warmly.”
