Sheffield Wednesday bring trialist on board as Owls take a closer look
Max Fiddes, a striker, is being considered by Sheffield Wednesday as a possible future addition to their U21 team.
The 19-year-old, who formerly attended Reading’s academy, is currently a member of Queens Park in Scotland.
Earlier this season, he briefly played on loan at Broomhill FC in the Lowland League.
With several contracts expiring and many of them not being renewed for various reasons, Wednesday will already be
making plans for the upcoming summer of transition that will likely affect their young teams.
Following a stint with Southend United, Fiddes joined the Scottish team in January 2024. He will undoubtedly be
aiming to do well enough at S6 to convince the Owls that he deserves a contract south of the line once more.
Andy Holdsworth’s team lost against Fleetwood Town 1-0 on Friday, and the forward played for just over an hour.
Favour Onukwuli replaced him after the home team had fallen behind to a goal from Pele Smith.
How long the adolescent will have to display his skills in blue and white is still uncertain, but it’s possible that he’ll
get another chance on Tuesday when the youthful Owls play Hull City.
