One person was taken to the hospital after a three-vehicle accident on the A189 in Cramlington.
The victim was rushed to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital following the crash, which occurred just after 8.15 a.m. on Wednesday.
Northumbria Police and the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) both responded to the incident.
A representative for NEAS stated in a statement: “We were called to a road traffic incident on the A189 in Blyth on Wednesday, February 5th, at 8.30am. We despatched one crew to the scene, and one patient was transported to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital.”
Northumbria Police’s spokeswoman stated: “Shortly after 8.15am today (Wednesday), we received a report of a three-vehicle collision on the A189 Spine Road southbound in Cramlington, close to the Three Horse Shoes roundabout.”Emergency services are now on scene. The southbound lanes are now closed. Motorists are advised to utilize alternative routes wherever feasible.”
Following the crash, the road reopened after being closed for around 90 minutes. Traffic on the road has lessened and begun to flow again.
