Norwich City boss Andy Cook delights in win over leaders Chatham Town.
Norwich City Women manager Andy Cook acknowledged he is pleased with his team’s recent victories against promotion opponents Real Bedford and Chatham Town.
The Canaries drew away to Bedford last weekend before defeating league leaders Chatham 2-1 at The Nest on Sunday, with Holly Kennard scoring the winner in the second half.
The postponement of Bedford’s game against Ashford Town has improved City’s position in the Women’s National League Division One South East standings, where they are now only two points behind the leaders.
City still need the teams above them to make mistakes in the coming weeks if they are to be promoted, but defeating Chatham significantly aided their case.
“To get four points from the last two games; we’ll take that,” he remarked. “If someone had offered us the opportunity to come down to Bedford, we would have gladly accepted.
“You could see by the way they (Chatham) played and worked throughout the season that they’re a very talented team.
