Coventry City v QPR Team News with 2 outs and 7 doubts as Frank Lampard teases boost

Frank Lampard hopes to bring back a winger against QPR on Tuesday.

QPR and Marti Cifuentes had a rare weekend off from FA Cup play, but will return to Championship duty on Tuesday against Coventry City.

After struggling against Sheffield Wednesday and Millwall, the R’s improved their fortunes with a 2-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers. Meanwhile, Frank Lampard’s side looks to bounce back from a 4-1 FA Cup defeat at home to Ipswich Town on Saturday.

On Tuesday, the return of a first-team standout could assist him in accomplishing this. Here’s some Coventry City against QPR team news.

Coventry City team news

Coventry City could welcome QPR this week without first choice left-back Jake Bidwell.  The 31-year-old has an abductor problem and was unavailable against Ipswich Town.

After the match, Frank Lampard revealed that the player could be out of action for a week but could return for the trip to Sheffield Wednesday next weekend. The Chelsea veteran said: “We have got players out, Bidders has picked up a little issue which hopefully won’t be that bad for him, and hopefully he’ll be back soon. But that kept him out against Ipswich.

“It’s a small adductor injury which we’re hoping will be days [for recovery], maybe up to a week or so at this point.”

Lampard could welcome back Ephron Mason-Clark against QPR. He stated, “Ephron is back in training with us and is being filtered back into it.” He certainly needs a little more training as a whole to be fully prepared to start games, but he’s with us, so he’s not far away.”

Haji Wright and Ben Sheaf have been out due to injury and are making their way back, but the match against the R’s may come too soon. Lampard explained: “Haji, we’re expecting he’ll be integrating with us by the end of next week, gradually, and we’ll see what happens after that.

“And Ben Sheaf is probably on a similar trajectory to Haji, in that we expect he’ll be back next week or early the following week. So we know we’ll be getting players back shortly, key players we’ve been missing for a while. So they will be practically new signings and new input for this season, which is fantastic for us.”

Jake Bidwell and Ephron Mason-Clark both have doubts. Haji Wright and Ben Sheaf are both out.
