With two of Scotland’s oldest clubs, Rangers (1872) and Queen’s Park (1867), playing each other, the classic Glasgow Derby will return.
Even though the two teams were playing together long before the east end club became envious, they have undoubtedly had different fates over the past 150 years.
Additionally, some familiar faces are making the trip from lowly Hampden as Rangers get ready to welcome Queen’s Park to Ibrox for the first time since the two teams played each other in the former Scottish Third Division in February 2013.
Rangers loanee ruled out for Queen’s Park
In January, Rangers allowed Adam Devine, a right-back from their academy, to go on loan to Queen’s Park.
As he seeks to advance and gain more first-team experience, the right-back has finding opportunities at Ibrox at a premium.
The 21-year-old Rangers defender will not play in the Scottish Cup match at Ibrox, but he will try to help the Championship team move up the league.
Devine will have to watch from the stands since SFA regulations prohibit a loan player from competing against his original club.
