MOTD pundit reveals what Tarkowski told Pickford before Everton howler.

Everton Bournemouth Pickford

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was at fault when Bournemouth scored their second goal in a painful FA Cup defeat on Saturday.

The Cherries headed to Merseyside on 8 February and were able to score two without reply to secure their spot in the fifth round.

The Toffees suffered a setback as they exited the prestigious tournament for the last time before leaving Goodison Park.

David Moyes’ team failed to meet expectations due to a mistake that cost them the game.

Jordan Pickford went against James Tarkowski’s suggestion in Everton at Bournemouth.

In L4, Antoine Semenyo scored a penalty after James Tarkowski was called for bringing him down, giving the away team an early lead.

The second strike of the afternoon occurred after the Englishman handed the ball away, although it’s easy to argue his teammate placed him under needless pressure.

Pickford put the ball to the defender’s feet, but former Toffee Ashley Williams feels the 32-year-old was instructing him not to pass short.

On Match of the Day (8 February), he stated: “This is crazy as a goal kick.” Branthwaite, Young, and Garner are all looking the opposite direction, believing he will kick far.

“Tarkowski is saying, ‘Calm down, take your time, I don’t really want it.'” Winterburn and Jebbison are ready to push, but he plays it nonetheless, and Tarkowski is now in danger.

“He plays a pass which I can only imagine was to Ashley Young, Tavernier has his shot and then it deflects about three or four times.”

Andoni Iraola’s team was well-positioned to capitalize on the Toffees’ short goal kick and attempted play-out.

As a result, the England international goalkeeper looked to be making a sensible decision by playing a long ball up the pitch in an attempt to win the second ball.

Pickford chose not to use this option, instead putting pressure on Tarkowski, who ultimately dropped the ball.
